James Bradley (1693–1762), the third Astronomer Royal, will be the subject of a Northeast London Astronomical Society presentation at Wanstead House this month.

"Bradley lived and carried out much of his work in Wanstead, where he discovered stellar aberration. This was the first proof that the Earth was moving around the Sun," said Steve Karpel.

Bradley's observations were made from a house located on the site of The Co-op.

The talk will take place on 18 February from 3pm (visitors welcome).
