A mother with a five-year-old daughter with leukaemia and Down's syndrome is raising awareness of her story as part of this year's Christmas appeal for Haven House Children's Hospice.

Grace Sherwood, who has a twin brother Maxwell, was diagnosed with leukaemia last November.

"The first time I met Katie, a nurse from the hospice, I immediately felt relaxed. She talked me through all the ways they could support us, and Grace now goes regularly to Haven House... In just a year, Haven House and Katie have become a vital part of our family," said Grace's mum, Kelly.

A donation of £141 could pay for three hours of play activities at the Woodford Green hospice, allowing a life-threatened child like Grace to have fun in a safe, supported environment.
