A local birdwatcher and photographer will be giving a talk about the birds of Wanstead this month.

"While mostly hard graft for meagre returns, patch birding can be truly wonderful... 180 species have been recorded locally in the last 10 years, including London's third ever Blyth's reed warbler, which just goes to show how important it is to get out there to look and listen," said Nick Croft, whose presentation will take place on 19 November from 1pm at Wanstead Park's Temple (tickets: £3; booking required).
