The art of Chinese brush painting will be demonstrated at Wanstead House this month.

"Jean Turton is a former chairman of the Chinese Brush Painting Society. She is an enthusiastic teacher of this technique and loves to encourage her students to take up this meticulous style of painting... Chinese art involves sharply pointed brushes that can be made from weasels' tails," said a spokesperson for the Essex Art Club, which will be hosting the event on 22 April from 2.30pm (members: £3.50; visitors: £5).
