Residents are invited to join a walk along the local stretch of the River Roding this summer.

Organised by Thames21 – a charity that works with communities to improve waterways – the riverside stroll will start at Redbridge Tube station on 12 August (10am; free) and follow the river towards Charlie Brown's Roundabout, ending at South Woodford station by 12.30pm.

Rising at Molehill Green near Dunmow in Essex, 107m above sea level, the Roding flows for 80km before joining the Thames at Barking Creek.
