Wanstead singer and songwriter Liza Finn, whose voice has been likened to that of Eva Cassidy and The Carpenters, released her first single Home – 'a story of a journey of self-discovery' – last month, along with an accompanying video shot on location in Waterloo, Rye and Dungeness.

When asked about her own home in Wanstead, Liza said: "Wanstead is a quintessential London village. Its active community, green open spaces and variety of independent businesses make it a good home for people of all ages and situations: families, young professionals, working adults and the retired. This is very much reflected in the restaurants, bars and shops, which offer something for everyone."

"I knew I wanted to rent the flat I now live in because it's close to the High Street yet the street is still very quiet. The houses are beautiful and all different in their own ways. My flat has high ceilings, large windows and lots of natural sunlight, which I need to write. My music room looks out onto the street, where I sometimes sit for hours just watching people going about their daily business. There's a calmness about the village, a serenity: just the type of environment I need to be creative. I've lived all over London but I've never felt so at home before. Wanstead has a timeless quality about it and I can see myself being very happy here for many years to come."
