The Friends of Wanstead Parklands joined Epping Forest representatives on a visit to Woodberry Wetlands in Stoke Newington last month.

The group were met by David Mooney of the London Wildlife Trust, who outlined a number of ideas that could be relevant to Wanstead Park, including how reed beds had been successfully created in the wetlands and details of the various forms of fundraising they use.

One outcome from the visit may be the establishment of a reed bed at the western end of Wanstead Park's Heronry Pond.
