This year has been a successful breeding season for the Skylarks on Wanstead Flats.

“Last month, Team Skylark did its annual walk on Wanstead Flats to assess the breeding results. We found 11 birds, an increase of four or five since the start of the season. In a large part, this success is due to the two fenced-off areas on the Flats, which prevent human and canine disturbance of these ground-nesting birds from March to September. Hopefully, more of the same next year,” said Tim Harris of the Wren Wildlife Group.
