Five gardens on the Aldersbrook Estate will be open to the public on 3 July as part of the National Garden Scheme.

“From a vine-covered pergola to a chicken coop and wildlife pond, there is plenty to explore. You can turn up on the day and visit all the gardens for one entry fee of £7, which goes to charity,” said Ruth Martin, chair of the Aldersbrook Horticultural Society. Open from 12 noon to 5pm, the gardens taking part are 21 Park Road, 13 and 47 St Margaret’s Road, 1 Clavering Road and 4 Empress Avenue.
