Local National Trust centre to host presentation on war memorials

The vice-chair of the Woodford and District Centre of the National Trust will give a talk about the history of war memorials on 10 June.

“Whatever we may think of our country currently, we are probably better off having been on the winning side in the two great wars of the 20th century, and thus I believe we owe a debt to those who lost their lives contributing to those victories,” said Richard Speller, whose presentation will take place at All Saints’ Church hall in Woodford Wells from 2.30pm (visitors: £3).
