Humza Sair, Liberal Democrat candidate for Wanstead Village

Sair-LibDem

A Wanstead resident since 2010 and former Wanstead High School prefect, I am committed to our community. Currently completing a BSc Economics at SOAS, I balance academic study with active service, regularly attending council meetings to champion local voices. I also attend local police panels to make the case for more police resources for Wanstead to reduce shoplifting on the High Street and improve safety. I will offer a fresh, approachable perspective to improve trust and local services.

Promoted by Crispin Acton on behalf of Redbridge Liberal Democrats, all at 45 Wellington Road, London, E11 2AS

Jo Blackman, Labour Party candidate for Wanstead Village

Blackman-Labour

I have lived in Wanstead with my family for nearly 20 years. I got involved in local politics after campaigning for a local playground. My day job is in environmental campaigns and I currently lead on the environment on the council. I am chair of governors at a local primary school and trustee of several environmental charities. I love Wanstead and will always do my best to help local residents. We have achieved a lot together, but there is a lot more to do. So, use all three of your votes for your Labour candidates on 7 May.

Promoted by Thomas Morton on behalf of Redbridge Labour, both at 12a Highview Parade, Woodford Ave, Ilford, IG4 5EP.

Sue Whitehead, Green Party candidate for Wanstead Village

Whitehead-Green

I’ve lived in Wanstead for 20 years. Both my daughters went to Wanstead High School and I am involved in the local business community as my husband has a small Wanstead business. I adore our High Street and want to do all I can to protect it from the new permanent market stalls, diggers on Christ Church Green, shoplifters and empty units standing idle. I am deeply proud of my working class roots and want every young person to have the same opportunities I had, which allowed me to enjoy a successful health journalism career.

Promoted by Rosemary Warrington on behalf of Redbridge Green Party at PO Box 78066, London, SE16 9GQ.

Daniel Morgan-Thomas, Labour Party candidate for Wanstead Village

Morgan Thomas-Labour

It has been a privilege to be your local councillor for Wanstead Village for the last eight years, having also been a school governor and local charity trustee in this time, as well as working in the voluntary sector. As a long-term Wanstead resident, I appreciate and regularly use our excellent library, green spaces and neighbourhood cafés. We can’t put the progress we’ve made at risk by letting Reform win control of Redbridge, so use all three of your votes for your Wanstead Village Labour candidates on 7 May.

Promoted by Thomas Morton on behalf of Redbridge Labour, both at 12a Highview Parade, Woodford Ave, Ilford, IG4 5EP.

Neal Krishan Vithlani, Labour Party candidate for Wanstead Village

Krishan Vithlani-Labour

I’ve lived in the local area for nearly 20 years and care deeply about our community. From our beautiful green spaces to our independent local businesses and strong public services, it’s a fantastic place to live. Over the years, I’ve seen how important it is to protect what makes our area special, and I’m committed to working hard for residents. Only Labour can keep Wanstead Village the great place it is. So, don’t risk your community and use all three of your votes for your Labour candidates on 7 May.

Promoted by Thomas Morton on behalf of Redbridge Labour, both at 12a Highview Parade, Woodford Ave, Ilford, IG4 5EP.

Local Elections 2026News

Paul Smith, Conservative Party candidate for Wanstead Park

Smith-Conservative

I have lived in Redbridge for nearly 30 years and worked as a chartered certified accountant, giving me strong financial experience and a focus on value for money. I am increasingly concerned about the pressure on local businesses, driven by excessive parking restrictions and poorly thought-out road policies. I want to give residents a stronger voice and ensure proper consultation on decisions that affect our area. I will support local shops, push for fair parking and hold the council to account.

Promoted by Paul Canal on behalf of Leyton and Wanstead Conservatives at Sevenways Parade, IG2 6XH

Local Elections 2026News

Neil Hepworth, Liberal Democrat candidate for Wanstead Park

Hepworth-LibDem

I have lived in Wanstead for 35 years, initially in Wanstead Park. I am an active Lib Dem and community campaigner. Aldersbrook and Wanstead are largely neglected because Labour dominate the council and prioritise Ilford. I will work to change this if elected, speaking up for Wanstead Park. There is too much inappropriate development in the area and I will seek to encourage developers and the community to forge a shared vision for the acceptable development of our area. I will ensure a strong Liberal Democrat voice.

Promoted by Crispin Acton on behalf of Redbridge Liberal Democrats, all at 45 Wellington Road, London, E11 2AS.

Milli Richards Clack, Green Party candidate for Wanstead Park

Richards-Clack-Green

Living in Aldersbrook since 2019, I’m deeply invested in our community. My decision to stand is rooted in personal experiences with public services, including maternal mental health challenges and navigating support for my neurodivergent child. This led me to establish a social enterprise, highlighting the power of lived experience and the urgent need for systemic improvements. I champion better resourcing for children’s services and for safer streets, having successfully campaigned for a pedestrian crossing for my street.

Promoted by Rosemary Warrington on behalf of Redbridge Green Party at PO Box 78066, London, SE16 9GQ.

Local Elections 2026News

Nadir Gilani, Green Party candidate for Wanstead Park

Gilani-Green

One of my first political actions was to be involved in organising and playing in the Rock Against Racism movement when I was a teenager. There were punk and reggae bands, black and white audiences, coming together, standing for hope and a strong community against the politics of division. Early experiences like these have helped to shape the politics that I’ve carried with me, and that I stand for now: people, communities, coming together, sharing hope and joy to build a better future.

Promoted by Rosemary Warrington on behalf of Redbridge Green Party at PO Box 78066, London, SE16 9GQ.

Local Elections 2026News

David Thom, Conservative Party candidate for Wanstead Park

Thom-Conservative

As a long-time Wanstead resident and civil engineering professional, I know how to deliver projects properly and ensure public money is well spent. I will push for open, transparent decision-making and real value for residents. Our local sports facilities and amenities deserve better: proper investment, proper maintenance and proper scrutiny. But it’s also about the basics: cleaner streets, safer neighbourhoods and services that work. I will listen, act and stand up for residents to make sure Wanstead Park gets the focus it deserves.

Promoted by Paul Canal on behalf of Leyton and Wanstead Conservatives at Sevenways Parade, IG2 6XH.

Local Elections 2026News

Alan Thomas, Liberal Democrat candidate for Wanstead Park

Thomas-LibDem

I am a long-term resident of Wanstead. I worked in property management and am now an active campaigner on local issues. Like many local residents, I am concerned about the long-delayed rebuilding of Whipps Cross, which the Labour government has further delayed to 2036. If elected, I will press for the Labour-dominated council to use its right to engage more in NHS issues, including the lack of GP appointments in this part of the borough, which tends to be overlooked because of a focus on Ilford.

Promoted by Crispin Acton on behalf of Redbridge Liberal Democrats, all at 45 Wellington Road, London, E11 2AS.

Local Elections 2026News

Simon Miller, Labour Party candidate for Wanstead Park

Miller-Labour

I live in Snaresbrook and care deeply about the local area. I’m currently a senior director at the UK’s fraud prevention service, tackling fraud and corruption. I also worked in a number of government departments and as head of policy on the Leveson Inquiry into phone hacking. I have previously served as a councillor in Waltham Forest and led on economic growth and housing development until May 2022. I will fight to ensure Wanstead Park gets its fair share of investment. That’s why I need your support on 7 May.
